Hydraulic Turbines: Classification of turbines, Impulse turbine Constructional details, velocity triangles, power and efficiency classifications, governing of platern wheels, Reaction turbines, Francis and Kaplan turbines, constructional details; Velocity triangles power and efficiency calculation; degree of section draft tube cavitation.
Principles of Similarity: Unit and specific quatities, performance characteristics of water turbines. Application of hydrauluic turbines to hydro power turbines.
